How to select glass for construction of glass walkway

It is believed that we all know that the choice of glass for the construction of glass walkway is not ordinary glass, but double tempered laminated glass. Tempered glass is a kind of pre-stressed glass. In order to improve the strength of glass, chemical or physical methods are usually used to form compressive stress on the glass surface. When the glass bears external forces, it first offsets the surface stress, thus improving the bearing capacity, enhancing the glass's own resistance to wind pressure, cold and heat, impact, etc., but it is not enough to meet the safety of glass walkway construction.

Laminated glass is a composite glass product consisting of two or more pieces of glass with one or more layers of organic polymer intermediate film sandwiched between them. After special high-temperature preloading, vacuum pumping, and high-temperature high-pressure processing, the glass and intermediate film are permanently bonded together. It is not enough for the construction of glass walkway that needs safety.

The double-layer tempered laminated glass used in the boardwalk project refers to the combination of tempered glass and laminated glass, and further safety treatment is carried out after tempering the glass to bond the two pieces of glass together. This not only greatly improves the compressive, seismic, and impact resistance of glass, but also prevents it from directly shattering like ordinary glass when encountering problems. Instead, a large number of fragments will be connected together in the lower layer to continue providing protection.
